OHEL Trauma Services

For over 3 decades, OHEL has been a leader in providing trauma services to the community.
OHEL is now further expanding its reach, leveraging its highly specialized expertise to meet the immediate needs of the greater number of individuals, families and communities affected by trauma. These services are primarily provided through OHEL’s Rapid Response Team and OHEL’s Crisis Intervention Services, which are staffed by trauma specialists who are multilingual in Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Hebrew, and Yiddish.  Our work reaches children and schools, employees and employers in the work place, the homebound, thousands of people affected by Super Storm Sandy, as well as responding to tragedies throughout the New York Metropolitan area. From Individual, Group and Family Trauma Counseling Services to Community Education and Outreach, OHEL is able to both comfort and support victims of trauma while better preparing individuals, institutions and communities in dealing with tragedy.
