OHEL Bais Ezra East 16th St Residence Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary!
On Sunday evening, November 16th, OHEL Bais Ezra's East 16th Street residence joyously celebrated their 10 year anniversary.  The party consisted of the women who currently live there, as well as current staff, as well as former residents and staff, friends and family.  The party was filled with many people who all care deeply for the women of OHEL Bais Ezra’s East 16th Street residence.
Volunteers came to enhance the party, and they all helped make it a truly memorable occasion. Chaim Moskowitz and Yanky Flusberg performed live Simcha music, while Sobo Richmond led an exciting Zumba dance session! Kate Nor led a very engaging arts and crafts session, where the woman and their guests made colorfully painted t-shirts and bright tote bags as one of their takeaway souvenirs. Â Elana Levovitz led a baking session, where participants got to bake delicious (and nutritious!) banana crumb muffins, which were served for dessert.
After the activities, the participants all joined for a festive dinner. Â Judy and Karyn, two women who live in the residence, gave a joint speech thanking all of the staff who work with them, and they thanked everybody for coming. Three staff in particular (Helen Zeygeril, Maria Valle, and Lea Katz) were publicly thanked by the Residence Manager, as they have been working since the home opened. Â The evening ended with a very moving slideshow filled with beautiful memories which the women, families, and staff were so proud to see.Â
Each woman was overjoyed to be at the party, and to see their families and friends participate in fun activities with them. "It was an incredible evening" said Henriette Kadoch, residence manager of OHEL Bais Ezra's E16th St residence. She continued "it was unique and different from our regular holiday parties and family gatherings in the Residence itself. Â It was very moving to see so many family members, friends, former residents and staff come together to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of this warm and welcoming home, merely out of pure admiration for each of East 16th's truly special individuals".
