Team OHEL Appreciation BBQ
On Tuesday July 23rd, Team OHEL had an appreciation BBQ in Bais Ezra’s Lower East Side Residence, in order to thank all of its runners, swimmers, and bikers, for all of the hard work and support that they give to OHEL.
Certain OHEL programs are not covered by government funding, yet are integral to the children and families of OHEL. OHEL is thankful for the fundraising efforts of its Team OHEL members, who along with their sponsors, raise much needed funds through numerous events.
At the Team OHEL Appreciation BBQ, in addition to a delicious dinner, Team OHEL members were treated to a tour of OHEL Bais Ezra’s beautiful Lower East Side residence. It is a stunning 4 floor residence, complete with all the amenities of a modern Manhattan home!
Many of the Team OHEL athletes participate in various marathons, triathlons, and races to challenge themselves physically, as well as for their own personal journeys. Team OHEL members have many amazing personal stories, and they all contribute to elevating the lives of the children and families that OHEL serves.
Laurie Szenicer, OHEL’s Senior Development Associate, said of the event “our Team OHEL participants are truly everyday heroes, and the children and families of OHEL are the real winners of these races. The members of Team OHEL show genuine selflessness in their training, time, and fundraising efforts, which benefit and elevate the lives of the many people OHEL serves.”
