Aging parents can suddenly be struck by
dementia, a fall or illness. Often, children of
such parents find themselves in an information
vacuum – looking to help, but unsure what to
do, or who to contact for information, support
and advice.
STRESS AND CONFLICT
Supportive family members can quickly find
themselves in alarmingly stressful situations
trying to manage a crisis in an unfamiliar
environment and even the best families, can
become mired in conflict.
We all wish to secure the best care giving
needs for our aging parents. OHEL Caregiver specialists help you evaluate your
parents needs, identify affordable alternatives and
ensure your peace of mind.
OHEL’s experienced professionals and trained
volunteers provide immediate guidance, support
and information.
BENEFITS AND SERVICES INCLUDE:
- Assessment of needs of both aging relative
and caregiver
- Information on services available through
local, state and federal programs
- Referrals for Medicaid planning, home care
and counseling
- Psychoeducational counseling and mediation
Caregiver support groups
- Referrals to family support or disease-specific
organizations such as Alzheimer’s Disease
and Related Disorders Association
- Training in caregiving skills
Assisting in completing benefits and insurance
