OHEL Regional Family Center of Northern NJ Begins New Teacher Training Program
The OHEL Regional Family Center of Northern New Jersey recently began a new eight-session training program for teachers in the New Jersey area.
This innovative program drew participants from diverse schools including, Frisch, Bais Tova, TABC, JEC, Bais Tova, Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey, Yeshivat Noam, High Point School of Bergen County, Yeshiva Ktana of Passaic and Yavneh Academy.
The program is similar to the New York based program which is entering its sixth year of operation, having trained over a hundred educators in the past five years.
The select teachers are provided with in-depth training workshops and supervision and will as part of the program, conduct 5 workshops with students in their schools throughout the academic school year.
The topics addressed include:
Self-Esteem
Conflict Resolution (bullying, anger management, etc.)
Relationship Building (social skills training, peer pressure, etc.)
Prevention of at-risk behavior
