Team OHEL Wins For OHEL Bais Ezra Kids
Fourteen runners in the NYC Marathon left the finish line not only with a trophy.
As part of Team OHEL, they have enabled hundreds of children with developmental disabilities to attend OHEL Bais Ezra’s many year round camp programs including Camp Kaylie.
Team OHEL is comprised of a dynamic team of seasoned and first time runners. Ari Schertz, a Team OHEL runner said, “I am glad that I had the opportunity to be part of the team and wear the OHEL shirt. It made me realize that this race was not just only about me, but about other people who suffer everyday and OHEL is the organization that goes out there and make their lives a little better.”
Another Team OHEL runner Isaac Kalish conveyed that “This was the experience of a lifetime. And the icing on the cake was that we were able to help OHEL and the CAMP KAYLIE kids!!!
Runners expressed how inspired they were in being able to individually thank the many OHEL Bais Ezra clients who came out to hold signs supporting TeamOHEL and giving Gatorade - which was certainly needed and appreciated by all!
OHEL is thankful for the incredible effort of Team OHEL in raising thousands of dollars for OHEL Bais Ezra kids. This was the second time that OHEL entered a marathon team, and OHEL hopes to build upon the success.
Though the race is finished, there is still an opportunity to sponsor any of the 14 Team OHEL runners and help support the children of OHEL Bais Ezra attend year round recreational camps including Camp Kaylie.
