OHEL Receives Top Scores in Government Regulatory Evaluation of Preventive Care Program
OHEL’S Robert and Roselin Vegh Preventive Care Program has received impressive annual ratings from NYC Administration for Children's Services. (ACS).
OHEL’S overall scores in the four main categories were 1) Safety (93%), 2) Assessment (95%), 3) Engagement (91%) and 4) Services (93%) - and were the maximum scores received system-wide.
OHEL congratulates Shelley Berger, Director of Foster Care and Preventive Services, and her team of highly dedicated and professional staff who work 24/7 to meet the needs of those in need.
OHEL’S Preventive Care Program helps families facing multiple stresses and who feel overwhelmed.
Services include a) Improving parenting skills and family functioning, b) Case management c) Counseling and therapeutic services for families d) Support for families in times of acute crisis, e) Help in meeting child’s developmental, educational, and mental health needs and f) Referrals to a variety of mental health services, substance abuse programs, domestic violence programs, public assistance and other benefits, prenatal assistance and vocational services
To be eligible for these FREE services, families must reside in New York City, face multiple stresses at home, and have a child or children under 18 years in their home.
