GENERAL COUNSEL
Ohel Children’s Home and Family Services, Inc., a large social service agency providing residential and non-residential services to children and adults with disabilities, is seeking a General Counsel. Applicant shall possess a JD from an accredited law school and have at least five years of professional experience preferably in the areas of both Employment and Health Care law. The General Counsel shall have a demonstrated history in the independent development of policies and procedures, conducting investigations, drafting and critically reviewing contracts, and interfacing and addressing questions and concerns regarding a myriad of legal issues. The General Counsel will assess for risk and liability exposure and proactively seek to address such issues in a systemic manner. Strong writing and analytical skills, the ability to multi-task and independently research and learn new areas of law, and a history and desire to work collaboratively with all levels of staff to implement positive change is required. Knowledge of the operation of non-profit agencies, including social services, is a plus but not required. This Full time position is based in Brooklyn and salary is commensurate with experience.

CHILDREN’S MOBILE MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL
New and exciting opportunity for dynamic experienced mental health professionals to provide children's mental health treatment services on a Fee For Service basis in home and community based settings in Brooklyn and Far Rockaway. A new suite of mobile mental health children's services, called Children and Family Treatment and Support Services, allows for more flexibility and creativity in providing treatment and ancillary support to children ages 0-21 and their caregivers. COMMUNITY PSYCHIATRIC SUPPORT AND TREATMENT PROVIDER (P/T)
OHEL is seeking dedicated professionals to join its Children and Family Treatment and Support Services team to provide mental health services to children in home and community-based settings in Far Rockaway, Queens, Long Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. A Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment Provider (CPST) works with children and families to offer psychoeducation, supportive counseling, as well as developing skills and coping strategies that enable children to gain mastery over challenges related to emotional and behavioral health needs. Responsibilities include providing clinical and supportive services to families in the community, assessing family strengths and needs, crisis avoidance, developing individualized service plans, collaborating with other service providers and community partners, and maintaining accurate documentation. PROJECT COORDINATOR (PROJECT HOPE)
Project Hope is a program that provides free crisis counseling services to persons, families, and groups most affected by Covid-19. Services will be psychoeducational in nature, not psychotherapeutic, and will include individual and group counseling, educational workshops and brief interventions. Services will be provided in a hybrid model of virtual and in person. Provided services will be culturally and linguistically competent and include outreach and engagement in community settings; education and training; assessment and referral to mental health and substance abuse programs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

EARLY CHILDHOOD MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN/CONSULTANT: F/T POSITION
OHEL’s Early Childhood Mental Health Program is seeking a warm, empathic, LCSW or LMHC with excellent communication skills to provide mental health services to children under five and to their caregivers. Clinician will provide services at OHEL’s Early Childhood Treatment Center in Flatbush. Clinician will be working with children to deliver evidence based individual, group and dyadic family-centered treatment and engage parents/caregiver in treatment.
In addition, clinician will also serve as a specialist to provide mental health consultation services to early childhood educational programs in Brooklyn. Consultants will offer collaborative support to site directors, professional development to pre-school teachers, classroom assessments to improve the overall learning environment, child-specific assessments to identify children who need early intervention/linkage to services, and supports for parents/caregivers. Specifically, consultants will provide guidance to the teaching staff in the development of developmentally appropriate social and emotional skills.

Appropriate candidate must have knowledge of early childhood social emotional development, experience in providing treatment to young children and/or experience working with young children in an educational setting.

OHEL’s School Support Services Department is seeking a warm, empathic, LCSW, MSW, LCAT, MS or LMHC with excellent communication skills to serve as a mental health specialist to coordinate programming and provide training in trauma informed practices in yeshivas and days schools in the New York area. Specialist will solicit schools, schedule workshops and webinars, train faculty leaders, and be responsible for coordinating the program components. Specialist will be a team player who will collaborate with School Support Services Director, Director of Trauma, Social Worker and other support staff to implement comprehensive COVID-19 trauma response services within the school setting. Services will include applying the OHEL developed resilience curriculum in classrooms, professional development to teachers on the topic of trauma sensitive schools, parent workshops on trauma related areas and collaborative support to school administrators.
