Current Opportunities

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR of DEVELOPMENT
OHEL is seeking a dynamic, motivated and experienced Development professional to be a part of our fundraising team. The Associate Director of Development will identify new prospects and follow up with existing donors who contribute via direct mail and online campaigns, as well as those who participate in various events.

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer and working closely with the Director of Development, the Associate Director will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors with the goal of increasing their support to the Major Gifts level. The Associate Director will take the lead in establishing a Young Professionals program for the organization and fundraise for Camp Kaylie, as well as assist with the completion of the Jaffa Family Campus building campaign. Additional responsibilities include work on special events such as the organization’s Gala, Golf Outing, Crowd Funding initiatives and other departmental projects.

Successful candidate should have demonstrated campaign experience including face-to-face solicitation, event planning, corporate sponsorship, innovative campaigns and experience with affiliate groups such as Young Leadership and professional affinities. 5-7 years of related experience required. Bachelor’s Degree. Public speaking experience and computer literacy a must. Familiarity with Sales Force a plus.

NURSE SUPERVISOR
Full time position for a seasoned professional who holds a NYS RN license to serve as a nurse supervisor within a large residential program consisting of many residences and apartments in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, and Manhattan for adults with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include providing initial training for new nurses and ongoing training and development for staff nurses, communicating job expectations and regulatory requirements, measuring health outcomes against standards, reviewing and consulting regarding a variety of medical conditions and complex diagnoses, conducting quality assurance reviews, covering for other agency RN’s, and maintaining linkages with hospitals our clients may frequent. Strong health assessment skills and supervisory experience needed. Current NYS RN license and a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience required. Experience working with people who have developmental disabilities a plus.

SENIOR MANAGER SPECIAL PROJECTS
Seeking talented, dynamic and energetic person to assist in the development and implementation of creative and therapeutic recreation programs for individuals who have developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include staff hiring, training and supervision, community outreach and more. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, experience with the developmentally disabled population, recreation programs, administrative/supervisory experience, and BA required.

SOCIAL WORKER- DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:
Position available for a high energy, professional to work with women and children in our Domestic Violence Program in Brooklyn. Responsibilities include providing clinical and case management services in a supportive and collaborative environment to support the needs of the women and children entering the shelter. Work scope includes assisting clients to adjust to shelter life and providing case management services in order to assure timely discharge from shelter. Supervision, and CEU In-service training provided. MSW or MHC degree required. Strong administrational skills a must. Position is 35 hours per week with competitive salary plus benefits.

CARE COORDINATOR:
Seeking a full-time Care Coordinator to manage the care of children and adults with developmental disabilities. The Care Coordinator will assess the individual’s physical, mental health and social services needs and will develop an integrated Life Plan, working collaboratively with medical, behavioral and social service providers. The Care Coordinator will also provide transitional care and follow up, individual and family support, referrals to community and social support services, as well as the use of health information technology to link services. Position requires field visits, including home, hospital and office settings. Candidates must have good writing skills, be well spoken, organized, detail oriented and computer proficient. Position requires an Associate’s degree in a health or human services field (BA Preferred), plus at least one year working with persons with developmental disabilities. Experience in case management preferred, as is familiarity with developmental disabilities. Valid driver’s license and own car preferred. Position is located in Brooklyn, and requires traveling within the 5 boroughs and Long Island.

COMMUNITY HABILITATION SUPERVISOR
Seeking a well-organized and professional individual for our Community Habilitation Program to hire, supervise and train direct care staff working independently in and out of the homes of children and/or adults with developmental disabilities. Experience working with individuals who have disabilities and strong knowfamily ledge of Microsoft Office required. Management experience and BA preferred. Valid driver’s license and own car a plus. Exciting opportunity to join OHEL Bais Ezra’s recruitment team as a full time Community Habilitation Field Recruiter. We are seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to actively recruit applicants at various community events, career fairs and on school campuses to work with various departments serving the community. LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE - TIKVAH
OHEL Children’s Home and Family Services is seeking a Russian Speaking Licensed Practical Nurse for our Adult Integrated Care Outpatient Clinic. Our Outpatient Clinics provide integrated mental health, primary care and wellness services. Responsibilities include providing nursing assessments, taking vitals, administering IM medications, and assisting doctors with medication orders and wellness treatment planning. Other responsibilities include consulting with clinic Psychiatrists/NP/MD/clinicians on clinic medication and health related issues, follow up with pharmacies, participate in team meetings and providing support, advocacy and referrals as needed. Psychiatric experience preferred. This position is part time and located in Brooklyn.

FAMILY PEER ADVOCATE - SPANISH SPEAKING
OHEL’s new Early Childhood Mental Health Program is seeking a warm, empathic individual with excellent communication skills to provide advocacy, coaching, and support to parents of children under age 5 experiencing social, emotional, developmental, medical and/or behavioral challenges. Appropriate candidate should have lived experience as a parent/ caregiver of a child who has had similar issues and has had to navigate multiple child-serving systems on their behalf. Spanish speaking a must.
