Headliner Avraham Fried, known for his inspirational passion and high energy performing style, is one of the most widely recognized and sought after entertainers in the Jewish world today. Strumming upon the heartstrings of the listeners, Fried opens new dimensions in Jewish music. Singing in Hebrew, Yiddish, and English, Fried’s compelling blend of traditional and popular music resonates with messages of hope, deliverance, and fulfillment. His music, employing the latest sounds, is infused with soul and spirit that uplifts and rewards audiences around the world.
With their elegant vocal styling, Lev Tahor has spearheaded the renaissance of Jewish acapella music, while creating their harmony-based pop-rock sound with their own original material. The band started off 10 years ago with their smash debut album, self-titled “Lev Tahor” - selling 30,000 CDs and releasing 3 more albums (2 full band albums and 1 more acapella album) over the next 7 years. Lev Tahor ("Pure Heart" in Hebrew) exemplifies the music as it takes its audience through many different Jewish experiences, creating new meaning in their lives. Led by producer/power vocalist Eli Schwebel, along with composer/bass singer Gadi Fuchs, and rounded out by the sweet sound of Yitzy Spinner, the tight, magnificent blend of vocals are candy for any listener’s ears. You can catch them live on stage at Lincoln Center in Alice Tully Hall this November at the OHEL benefit concert. Hurry, as this is a rare opportunity to catch Lev Tahor in concert!
London born Shimon Craimer is the chazzan at Riverdale Jewish Center. He has performed with popular singers around the world and is the lead vocalist for The Neshoma Orchestra, which brings the gift of beautiful music to weddings and Bar Mitzvahs everywhere. His newest musical album, Nashir Beyachad, features his own original compositions. Cantor Craimer, better known as Shim, is a dynamic and inspiring performer.
Netanel Hershtik serves as co-cantor of The Hamptons Synagogue and The New York Synagogue. His style reflects a blend of original elements, his father’s inspiring influence and a rigorous traditional cantorial education. His cantorial career began early: he was a child soloist in the Jerusalem Great Synagogue alongside his father, Naftali Hershtik. He has performed in Concerts throughout the world. He will perform with the New York Synagogue Choir.
This evening is a celebration of more than four decades of OHEL serving the Jewish community and will be an uplifting tribute to the children and families of OHEL. The performers will help OHEL celebrate our more than thirty programs designed to provide shelter, support, comfort, and care to the most vulnerable members of our community, from youngsters and young adults with developmental disabilities, to adults struggling with mental illness, to children in need of foster care, to women fleeing domestic abuse, to homebound seniors in need of coordinated social and medical services.
