Large Turnout at First Camp Kaylie Open House Includes Harvey and Gloria Kaylie and Family
Over a hundred families came to visit the beautiful facilities of Camp Kaylie, the Dr. Joe Silver Campus, this past Sunday July 18th and hear about the dynamic activity enriched programming for the Summer 2011 camp opening. Visitors came from the local Catskills area as well as many families from New York City, Long Island and New Jersey.
Parents, campers and prospective staff were personally met by Camp Kaylie Director Rabbi Peretz Hochbaum, OHEL Board President Moishe Hellman and senior camp staff and were provided with personalized tours on the 113 acre camp.
It was a special privilege to have Camp Kaylie benefactors Harvey and Gloria Kaylie, their daughters Roberta and Alicia and grandchildren for the OPEN HOUSE.
Also at the OPEN HOUSE were OHEL Board Members Mel Zachter, Chairman, Executive Committee, Moshe Zakheim, Co-Chairman of the Board, Jay Kestenbaum, Chair, Development Committee, Dr. Tzvi and Chaya Neuberger and Dr. Frank Goldberg.
Camp Kaylie fulfills the unique vision of the President and Board of Directors at OHEL Children’s Home and Family Services, and will provide an exceptional camping experience to campers of ALL abilities - an equal number of typically developing campers with no disabilities and campers with developmental disabilities.
A state-of-the-art camp offering unparalleled sporting and outdoor facilities, Camp Kaylie offers exhilarating programs and a unique camping environment that nurtures sensitivity and opportunities to develop self-awareness and personal growth.
The public are reminded of the next Camp Kaylie Open House, to be held IY”H Sunday August 22, 2010 from 11am – 5 pm. In addition to seeing the beautiful camp there will also be a carnival on camp grounds for all to enjoy at 400 Mount Vernon Road, Wurtsboro, NY.
While Camp Kaylie will open IY”H Summer 2011, an abridged and FREE End-Of-Summer program – two separate camps for boys and for girls - is taking place this August 2010. More information at http://www.campkaylie.org
