OHEL PROVIDES STATE-OF-THE SCIENCE TRAINING ON ADDICTIONS
Mental health, medical and social service professionals from all over the greater New York area had the opportunity to learn state-of-the-science information on addiction treatment at a recent workshop sponsored by the Mel and Phyllis Zachter OHEL Institute for Training. Motivation and Change: Addiction Treatment in the 21st Century provided participants with key insights and hands-on strategies to assist them in the treatment of substance abuse and the behavioral addictions.
This valuable educational opportunity featured internationally recognized addiction expert, Petros Levounis, MD. MA, Director of The Addiction Institute of New York and Chief of Addiction Psychiatry at St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals. Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University, Dr. Levounis is also on the faculties of the Hazelden Foundation and New York University’s Schools of Medicine and Nursing.
