OHEL INSTITUTE FOR TRAINING ADDRESSES THE CHALLENGES OF ANGER DISORDERS IN ADULTS, CHILDREN AND TEENS
Anger is a powerful emotion that can be extremely harmful in excess, impacting diverse areas of an individual’s life, including relationships, work, cognition, and overall physical and emotional health. OHEL’s recent professional workshop addressing the challenges of treating anger problems was designed to provide clinicians with better understanding of their clients’ anger experience and hands-on strategies for more effective intervention.
Experienced mental health professionals from all over the Greater New York area joined together on Wednesday, February 29th for an advanced, skill-building workshop sponsored by The Mel and Phyllis Zachter OHEL Institute for Training. Assessment and Treatment of Anger Problems in Adults, Children and Teens featured internationally recognized clinician, educator and researcher, Raymond DiGiuseppe, PhD., Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Psychology at St. John’s University. The author of numerous professional and academic publications and a recognized leader in his field, Dr. DiGiuseppe has made significant contributions to current understanding of the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of anger problems. Based on the latest research and clinical findings, this workshop represented a unique educational opportunity, offering attendees cutting-edge information and valuable clinical insights.
The Institute’s next training event will be its May 3rd Community Conference for professionals, family members and advocates: Changing the Culture of Dementia Care.
