OHEL Support Groups for Mothers of Children With Special Needs
A welcome opportunity to relax and share experiences
OHEL Children’s Home and Family Services provides a multitude of diverse support groups for people faced by different challenges. Whether for family caregivers, parents and children going through a divorce, or siblings who have a brother or sister with a disability – they are all groups where participants thrive in a relaxing and comfortable environment.
One of the most popular OHEL supports groups is for mothers of children with special needs. A recent group organized by OHEL Bais Ezra’s Family Services took place at Pomegranate Supermarket, where many such mothers gathered together for a well-deserved night out.
The relaxed evening night out began with a serving of delicious refreshments, and participants immediately bonded with each other, sharing similar stories, experiences – and resources.
Once settled, the group was treated to a special cooking demonstration by Pomegranate Executive Chef Drew, who shared lots of great cooking tips with the group, including how to properly prepare salmon, quinoa, and various salads. The attendees all enjoyed the specially prepared food created by Chef Drew. The event was one to remember – with participants only wishing the evening could have been longer!
The next OHEL support group for mothers of children with special needs will be taking place at Pomegranate Supermarket this Tuesday, June 17th at 10:30am. For more information or to sign up, please contact Azriel Steiner at Azriel_Steiner@ohelfamily.org or 718-686-3492.
