Ohel Children's Home and Family Services (“Ohel”) has created this Privacy Policy in order to demonstrate its respect for its users’ personal privacy. Children Under the Age of 18

The Website is not intended for people under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information (defined below) from people under 18. By using this Website, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Website. If we learn we have collected or received Personal Information from someone under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. We collect information from and about users of our Website:

When you complete forms to be a volunteer, apply for a position with Ohel, complete forms to donate to Ohel, communicate with us or otherwise use this Website, we may ask you to provide information:

  • By which you may be personally identified, such as your name, address, email address, phone number, date of birth or any other information the Website collects that is defined as personal or personally identifiable information under an applicable law ("Personal Information").
  • By which your donation may be processed, such as your credit card number, billing address, and security code (“Payment Data”).
  • That is about you, but individually does not identify you.

This information includes records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses), if you contact us.

All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

If you provide or permit us to collect any information relating to another person, you are representing to us that you have the authority to do so and permit us to use such information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies

In addition, Ohel may use information provided by users for personalization, identification, statistics, marketing, and to send them information, newsletters, and notifications about important changes or upgrades to the Website or about services or products furnished by or through the efforts of Ohel. We may also use users’ personally identifiable information for our internal business purposes, such as data analysis, audits, fraud monitoring, and prevention, developing and improving service offerings, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns, and operating and expanding our business activities.

The usage information we collect helps us to improve our Website and to deliver a better and more personalized experience by enabling us to:

  • To a successor in the event of a merger, sale, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Ohel’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which Personal Information held by Ohel about our Website users is among the assets transferred.
  • To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it. 
  • For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.
  • With your consent.
  • To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.
  • To enforce or apply our Terms of Use.
  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ohel or others. 

We will not otherwise intentionally disclose your personally identifiable information to anyone outside Ohel without prior notice to you.  Ohel will also take reasonable steps to prevent the accidental disclosure of this information. We will use our commercially reasonable efforts to prohibit those with whom we share your Personal Information from selling or redistributing it but can give no assurance in this regard.

Changing Personally Identifiable Information

Users may update, correct, or change their profiles by sending e-mail through our contact page. Users may change this information at any time and as often as necessary. Users may stop all collection of their information at any time by discontinuing their use of the Website.

Opt-Out Policy

It is Ohel's policy to respect our users’ requests not to receive e-mail or direct mailed information distributed by Ohel. To be excluded from receiving information, newsletters, and notifications about services or products provided by or through the efforts of Ohel please send an email to marketing@ohelfamily.org. Users also have the ability to unsubscribe from emails via the unsubscribe link included in each email.  When it is necessary to notify users of a change in the Website’s service, OheI reserves the right to notify its users by e-mail even if users have completed “opt out” forms across the Website.

Do Not Track

Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a privacy preference that users can set in their web browsers. When a user turns on DNT, the browser sends a message to websites requesting that they don’t track the user. At this time, OheI ignores these signals. OheI does not change its practices, described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy, in response to DNT browser settings or signals. Third parties may collect Personal Information about your online activities over time and across different websites, including your use of this Website. This Privacy Policy does not apply to, and OheI is not responsible for, the practices of third parties that collect your Personal Information.

Third-Party Websites

The Website may contain links to other websites. Ohel is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites or any website that may provide a link to the Website. OheI encourages you to review the privacy statements or policies of such websites before submitting any information to them.

We use social buttons provided by services like Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook. Third-party cookies used from other websites like YouTube are read by those websites and not OheI’s Website. Those cookies accumulate information about some of the user’s data which help with tracking analytics. We cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of data you provide to any third parties.  Any data collected by third parties is not covered by this privacy notice.  We are not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices of these third-party services, and you are responsible for reading and understanding those third-party services’ privacy policies.

Other than as discussed above, we don’t share your Personal Information with third parties. Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to help us improve our services. We currently use Google Analytics (traffic analysis, SEO optimization), Constant Contact (mailing list management), and Hotjar (behavior analytics).

Retention of Your Information

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements).  No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than that.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

Geographic Restrictions

The Website is controlled and operated by OheI from the United States and is not subject to the laws or jurisdiction of any state, country, or territory other than that of the United States.

Data Security

We have implemented reasonable measures designed to secure your Personal Information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored with our hosting provider or our cloud services. 

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone. 

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet and mobile platforms is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Information transmitted through our Website. Any transmission of Personal Information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures we provide.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' Personal Information, we will post the new privacy policy on this page with a notice that the Privacy Policy has been updated.  The date the Privacy Policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. DHSES DCJS SCAHC Calls for Bids

Ohel Children’s Home and Family Services is seeking bids from vendors for each of the following projects:

  1. Purchase and installation of new primary entrance doors with a minimum 10-minute rating and a minimum U.L. 752 bullet resistant level 3 rating.
  2. Purchase and installation of install a duress notification system that will allow security and staff to notify law enforcement of an emergency situation.
  3. Purchase and installation of 180-degree exterior cameras, including a license plate/driver camera, in addition to interior cameras.
  4. Cybersecurity trainings, exercises, and penetration tests.
