A child’s emotional intelligence is key to thriving in the classroom and beyond, and at Ohel, we have built the tools to help educators foster its growth. Our Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) resources help teachers create a classroom environment that allows fun to flourish, learning to begin, and conversation to flow.

Teaching Resilience in the Classroom
An ever-growing evidence base suggests that although resilience may be an inherent trait for some, it can be taught to many more. Our team believes that the classroom is the ideal place to introduce these concepts to children, leveraging the unique relationship between students and teachers and the safe environment the classroom provides. Our resources encourage students to recognize the strengths and coping tools they already have and to build upon them.
I Feel That Way and That’s Okay!
The “I Feel That Way and That’s Okay!” early childhood storybook aims to help children understand their emotions and how they are experienced inside their bodies.
This innovative resource touches on the four cornerstones of healthy development in young children: emotion regulation and coregulation, attachment, communication, and interoception.
With its easy-to-follow narrative and its central message that characters can “feel that way and that’s okay,” this resource can help children identify and learn to manage their emotions with the help of adults in their lives, laying a strong foundation for building resilience from a very young age. This resource has an accompanying Teacher’s Guide, complete with many supplementary classroom exercises, as well as classroom activity pages.
Inner Space: A Creative SEL Tool
Ohel’s Inner Space Resilience Workbook is a space-themed experience that allows children, ages 5-9, to learn about resilience through hands-on activities and critical thinking exercises. The engaging illustrations allow students to learn more about themselves and their emotions, while providing teachers with a window into their students’ worlds.
Inner Space and the rest of Ohel’s evidence-based tools, activities, and strategies proactively build emotional health and wellness in children of all ages, enabling them to thrive in the classroom and beyond. Encourage students to explore, learn, and embark on a transformative journey of building resilience through the power of Social-Emotional Learning.
