Substance Abuse Treatment in Brooklyn

Confidential and Compassionate Substance Abuse Treatment in Brooklyn

Substance abuse can occur in anyone. Addiction affects people of all ages and genders, from all types of backgrounds, across all social or economic positions. Ohel believes everyone deserves access to effective and compassionate substance abuse treatment, and the opportunity to recover from it.

Ohel aims to create a comfortable, confidential outpatient treatment environment where patients can find a path towards recovery. We have worked with teens and adults freeing themselves from alcohol, marijuana, opioids, stimulants, and other substances.

What is outpatient treatment?

Outpatient treatment allows individuals to continue their daily lives while receiving professional support.  Unlike inpatient rehab, outpatient programs don’t require an overnight stay in a facility. In our program patients have access to:

  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Virtual therapy
  • Peer support groups

Outpatient addiction treatment is a great option for people seeking help with early stages of substance abuse disorder or transitioning back into regular life after a stay in a rehab facility.

Culturally Competent Addiction Counseling for the Jewish Community

Ohel is proud to offer treatment to everyone who needs it, but we’re also committed to understanding and serving the needs of the Jewish community. Our therapists are professional, experienced, and culturally competent. We can help our patients recover in a way that harmonizes with who they are and what they believe. Both in-person and remote therapy is available to help create a schedule that works with their commitments and comfort level.

Find Strength in Group Therapy

Ohel offers discreet groups for people experiencing substance abuse overseen by experienced professionals.

These groups provide a way to connect with people who share specific life experiences. For addiction treatment, the connection and support shared is invaluable. They inspire patients by hearing peer success stories, and guide them through hearing their peer struggles.   Verbal encouragement can be valuable, but seeing friends succeed is something else entirely.

Both gender-specific and mixed gender support groups are available.

Support Between Therapy Sessions

Addiction does not adhere to a schedule, and neither do our support options.  Our patients are given access to a support helpline that is available between therapy sessions, and whenever they need. The helpline is staffed by individuals in recovery, who can share firsthand experience, and listen with a compassionate ear.  In addition, we have peer recovery specialists, who are available for additional support.

Family & Spouse Support Services: Help For the People Who Help

Addiction creates ripples. Watching someone you care about struggle with substance use disorders can have a profound effect.

We have support groups and counseling available for spouses and family members of people with substance abuse issues. Share your experiences, connect with others, and learn about how to keep yourself safe and serene and how to help your loved one on their way to recovery.
